Welcome to Trinity Street on Barry Island, the home to characters Gwen and Bryn from the BBC hit comedy series Gavin & Stacey.
Gavin & Stacey is filmed in different locations. Gavin & Stacey is a British television comedy series, written by James Corden and Ruth Jones, and produced by Baby Cow Productions for BBC Wales. Jones and Corden appear in the show, alongside the title characters played by Mathew Horne and Joanna Page. The series also features Larry Lamb, Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon and Melanie Walters. A romantic comedy, the show follows the long distance relationship of Gavin and Stacey, who come from opposite ends of the country. Gavin lives with his family in Billericay in Essex, while Stacey lives with her mother on Trinity Road, Barry, near Cardiff.
Barry Island is a town and community in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales, Located along the northern coast of the Bristol Channel less than 7 miles south west of capital city Cardiff. Barry is a seaside resort with attractions including several beaches and the Barry Island Pleasure Park. Once a small village, Barry has absorbed its larger neighbouring villages of Cadoxton and Barry Island. The population of Barry is 47,863 and the town is ranked as the fifth largest urban area in Wales, and the largest town in Wales.
Characters Gwen West played by Melanie Walters, and Bryn West played by Rob Brydon are both residents of Trinity Street in Gavin & Stacey and this made Trinity Street one of the main areas of filming throughout the three series broadcasted.
