The Mini Cooper Grand Prix was a special limited edition model of 35, created by John Cooper. The production of these Minis were from 1994 to 1996 and each car was individually numbered with an original enamelled brass plaque, which is fixed to the front of glove box. They were also all pre-registered by John Cooper himself and priced at £13,500 new.

Interior:

Front and rear seats upholstered in soft black leather from the USA, with matching leather door panels, walnut dashboard from Italy with three extra auxiliary gauges (oil pressure, clock and volt meter) all gauges are cream faced and have John Coopers signature, walnut door cappings pulls and gear knob, alloy door furniture, John Cooper 13' leather steering wheel, and the individual brass numbered plaque.
Engine:

The search for the perfect engine for the Grand Prix Mini was a long one, no fewer than seven different cams were tried in the engine before settling on the right one - a specially designed unit unique to the Cooper Grand Prix. Modifications to the fuel injection system were also tried and tested, first was the twin throttle body set-up which although gave improved performance it was decided that the modified single unit was preferable. Then there's the Weber Alpha fuel injection system, which is the same as the unit used on Paddy Hopkirk's Monte Mini Cooper. The cylinder head were also improved with the use of larger valves and gasflowing. A week before the final spec for the mini was chosen, Mike Cooper took his father for a spin in the development car for his approval. John decided that although the power and handling was spot-on, the noise was just to much, this resulted in the use of a Janspeed exhaust unit. With the increase in power the engine was fitted with an oil cooler.

Performance of this Mini when new was reputed to be, power output of 86 bhp and 0-60 in 9 seconds with a top speed of 105 mph.

And when tested at Gerald Dale's in february 2010 it was 84 bhp...
