Enjoying a great location by the River Thames the Premier Inn County Hall is housed in an historic and listed (protected) building. County Hall was once the government building for London housing what was call the GLC (Great London Council). Abolished in the 1980's the building is now used for other purposes. Part of the building is actually the London Aquarium while a section is also another hotel, the Marriott County Hall, and there are some restaurants here too. The hotel sits between Westminster Bridge and the London Eye (was the Millennium Wheel). Just the other side of Westminster Bridge is the Houses of Parliament (the house of commons and the house of lords) and from there the UK as a whole is governed. The houses of Parliament themselves look out of over Parliament Square which is home to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. Handily placed for Waterloo station which is almost opposite. Just slightly further along Belvedere Road (150 yards) is the South Bank. Here you will find several well known attractions namely the Hayward Gallery, The Royal festival Hall, the Imax Cinema and the National Theatre. Although the hotel is just on the south side of London its still less than a mile to the tourist heart of London, Piccadilly Circus. By car/taxi this is easily accessed using Westminster or Waterloo bridges. From Waterloo Station its just 3 stops to Piccadilly Circus using the Bakerloo Line. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants along Victoria Street which is less than a half mile walk form the hotel. However there are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk of this location.
