The Bar

Amid the plethora of bars on the SouthBank, Skylon stands out for the quality of its cocktails and breathtaking views.

Skylon Bar is a destination in its own right, acclaimed for its delicious cocktails and extensive wine list. The bar thrums to the chatter of friends and colleagues enjoying a drink and to the rattle of cocktail shakers. It is especially popular after work, and as a meeting-place for concert-goers in the Royal Festival Hall and diners in Skylon Grill and Skylon Restaurant. For those with a smaller appetite or who are pressed for time, Helena Puolakka's innovative Bar Food menu is just the ticket.

Jose Barattino - Guest Chef

The long awaited Brazilian guest chef Jose Barattino will be joining us as of next week and will be working alongside Executive Chef Helena Puolakka from Monday 21st June to Sunday 27th June and again for the weekend beginning 16th July.

Treats that he will be bringing to the bar include Pastel de bacalhau - deep fried dough stuffed with cod fish. This style of food is what you would expect to find in their Boteco's, which is a loving nickname for the urban bars where people meet to enjoy drinks and share good food.

The Grill's menu is inspired by regional classic food, from the rustic countryside old farms and traditional coast recipes that is their heritage. Roasted suckling pig "pururuca", black beans and sautéed greens is just one of the dishes which will feature in this period.

The formal dining Restaurant will see a medley of modern Brazilian dishes to highlight an exotic yet delicate cooking style. Roasted lamb with Brazilian spices, corn grits and native honey.

Skylon Mojito Cocktail Masterclass
