Survival  tips for Glastonbury festival

  • Be mentally prepared. Glastonbury Festival is like a bit of a boot camp. You will be expected to be on your feet for 4 days non-stop, the toilets are going to be an absolute nightmare after day one, there’s no getting around that, just prepare yourself and accept it. They are revolting.
  • Plan your weekend and decide what your goal for the weekend us. Glastonbury Festival has too much to offer to cover in 4 days. Are you going for the music? If so, then plan exactly which bands you wish to see and make a note of where and when they are playing. If you are going for the general vibe, check out what parties are happening when and where. Good planning will make for a much better all round Glastonbury Festival experience.
  • Make more than a mental note of where you parked your car and pitched your tent. Draw a map, write it down on paper that you carry around with you at all time. It is no fun being found tentless after a long hard day of rocking out! Same applies to searching for your car at the end of the festival, by that stage the thought of lugging all your wet clothes around for hours searching for your car will not be a good finishing note for your Glastonbury Festival Experience.
  • Party responsibly: Yes, go crazy, be free, act like a hippy and get drunk and have a great time. Remember though, that being completely out of it amongst hundreds of thousands of people is not ideal. Stick close to your mates at all times. Don’t peak too early. If you’re going to drink, remember that each day is long and you don’t want to end up missing your favourite headliner due to being comatosed in a drain somewhere. Yes, lots of people do drugs at festivals, let’s not be naïve. Ideally, don’t do drugs, but if you do, then drinking guidelines apply to drugs too; don’t overdo it, make sure you’re with your mates and remember that a massive occasion like Glastonbury Festival is not the ideal place to experiment with anything for the first time.
  • Remember to eat and drink: Yes, this might seem obvious, but when you’re knocking back lagers all day you might forget to eat or drink and end up being highly dehydrated. Dehydration is the number one cause of medical issues at the Glastonbury festival so make sure you have at least a few bottles of water throughout the day, even though they cost a million pounds. Water helps lessen the hangover too, so it’s a win-win situation!
  • Get a rocking T-Shirt! Dress like a rockstar for a weekend. If you want to wear a Daphne and Celeste T-shirt, go ahead; just don’t expect to make too many new friends. Get a T-Shirt of your favourite band; buy one of the official Glastonbury Festival T-shirts so that you can remember the good times. Don’t hold back, ROCK ON!
