St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square
There's a double bill to the Trafalgar Square concert for St Georges Day, with the first half featuring live performances from young musicians and school groups. There's also music from the winners of the Rhythm of London Busking Underground competition, with Jamie West, Christopher Read and the musical partnership of Kieron Brunt and Patrick Milne all taking to the stage. A complete music lovers delight, the celebrations take place on a large performance stage.

Giving you the chance to experience some of the best in modern English music for yourself, the St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square concert should appeal to all ages who like to listen to live music in the open air. The free concert for St Georges Day 2010 coincides with the end of the Rhythm of London festival, which aims to foster a new generation of musical talent in London.

Music Hall traditions
Drawing on the songs and traditions of Music Hall culture, the second half of the concert is bound to be one of the highlights of the 2010 St Georges Day entertainment in central London. Song sheets will be provided, so everyone can sing their hearts out to the likes of The Lambeth Walk, From Marble Arch to Leicester Square, Let's Go Down The Strand, Berlington Bertie from Bow and the songs of Marie Lloyd to celebrate the national day.

Other songs that you can expect to hear at the St Georges Day concert include I Live in Trafalgar Square and If It Wasn't For The Houses Inbetween. Audience participation will be actively encouraged, so prepare for a proper, London style old English knees up at the mass sing along.
Joe Brown and his Band
Headlining the second half of the free gig is Joe Brown and his five piece multi instrumental band, who will be playing a mix of pop, rock and roots music for the crowd. Proving that English music is some of the best in the world, the concert for St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square is the only place to sample such a wide variety of talent on Saturday 24th April.
Entertainment on the stage for St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square takes place from 1pm - 6pm, Saturday 24th April 2010. St Georges Day itself falls on Friday 23rd April 2010.
