Tendulkar's FIFTH double Test Hundred (??!)

This guy is a machine.

Sachin Tendulkar stands alongside Michael Schumacher for me as one most dominant figures in modern team sport. I remember this guy as a fresh faced teenager scoring 119* against the England quicks in 1990 - the second youngest Test centurion ever. Wisden hailed it as "an innings of immense character". He's been around for two decades and holds almost every single batting record that's out there.

In the recent drawn Test Match versus Sri Lanka at Columbo the Master Blaster scored 203, bettered only by Sangakkara who made 217.

Nonetheless he is head and shoulders above his peers on the basis of sheer longevity. Being only 37 Tendulkar has several more years of top flight cricket should he remain fit - securing him a place with Don Bradman as one of the finest of all time. Unlike The Don, he won't be scoring 300 runs in a single day anytime soon - but he's something very special..

Tendulkar also happens to be one of the classiest stroke players I've ever seen . Check out his disdainful treatment of Brett Lee on Youtube, the perfect economy of footwork and superb timing. It's enough to get the cricket fan purring with satisfaction...
