Afridi resignation hints at dressing room chaos.
Published: 20th July 2010

Lots of fire and passion in the Pakistani dressing room, just like always. The latest news is captain Afridi's resignation following 'mental pressures' and a 150 run hammering at Lords by the visiting Aussies. He explained "he did the wrong thing" returning to the team and the captaincy, the all-rounder returns to the shortened forms of the game and Salman Butt takes over as skipper. An incredibly talented team self destructs once more. Afridi's tenure lasted just one match and the result was horrible. What price massive team disruption again? After a Test whitewashing in Australia where players were handed out life bands like sweeties, a certain amount of stability was needed. But despite the claims of the team being 'united' and 'confident' here in England it seems the opposite is the case. With precocious young talent that England fans can dream only dream of, a tough series awaits this summer. However, with a young, untested captain in place for the Pakistanis, my money is on Our Boys for the Test series win which starts next Thursday.
