Places To Eat Portland Place
The Landau
You'll eat your breakfast off Vera Wang and exchange your coat for a tag designed by Bill Amberg when you dine at the Landau at The Langham. It's that kind of place. The kind of place that has plush, thick-pile carpets and a 'service philosophy' which includes black napkins to go with the ladies' little black dresses. Bring your appetite with you if opting for their speciality 'grazing' menu - you can make your way through up to eight courses available here. Chef Andrew Turner, who has made TV appearances on the BBC's 'Saturday Kitchen' and comes here from the Pennyhill Park Hotel, is well known for his sample sized courses that seem to keep on coming. Specialities include cream of pink Paris mushroom with winter truffle and Comte cheese ravioli and French rabbit veloute, frog's legs, onions and bacon. Food that has been so carefully laboured over it could be described as modern art, served in a deluxe setting at eye watering prices.
