The Welcoming City
RIBA London is partnering with the Architecture Foundation and New London Architecture (NLA) to produce the LFA2010. As London gears up for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games the LFA2010 looks at ways that planners, architects and local communities play their part in the development of 'The Welcoming City'.
All Londoners are invited to join the Festival community and investigate ways that London can be made a better place to live, work and and examine change in the capital in a celebratory way. Register and get involved in LFA2010.
A wide range of independent events across the Capital will surround three Central, East and South weekend hubs: these are the main areas of focus for a capital wide programme of talks, tours, installations and initiatives that all promote architecture, design and quality public realm in London.

Central: Nash Ramblas 18–20 June
RIBA London is opening the festival with a West End hub that celebrates John Nash's key north-south route between two Royal Parks (The Regent's Park and St James’s) uniting a wealth of architectural, historical, cultural and commerical offers. Nash Ramblas highlights the origins of the route in the early 19th century and explores contemporary, as well as the future, plans and potential for this area as a major pedestrian destination.
East: High Street 2012 25-27 June
The second weekend focus is the section of streets that stretch from Aldgate to Stratford and represent the last 6km of the London 2012 Olympic Marathon, as well as a wider streetscape and regeneration strategy. The High Street will host a series of activities and intervention with Design for London as a local delivery partner. High Street 2012 programme
South: Bankside Urban Forest 2-4 July
The final weekend is defined by the part of Southwark stretching form the riverside to Elephant and Castle and Blackfriars Road and Borough High Street. The Bankside strategy seeks to enhance public spaces in the Bankside area. Bankside Urban Forest programme
