Limited Edition Ultimate Strength Hand Salve, a philanthropic offering that supports HIV/AIDS charities world-wide. Since 1996, $1,000,000 has been committed to the cause, through the generous support of Kiehl’s customers.
Last year in stores for World AIDS Day, December 1 2009, the Limited Edition Ultimate Strength Hand Salve provides all-day care to severely dry, active hands and features unique packaging adorned with the symbolic red ribbon – worn internationally to increase public awareness of AIDS and in the lobbying efforts to increase funding for AIDS services and research. Created out of red hand prints, this visual displays the many hands that AIDS has affected, as well as the many hands working together to find a cure.
In the UK Kiehls will continue to partner with the countries leading HIV and AIDS charity, the Terence Higgins Trust, donating 100% of net profits from the sale of every charity edition hand salve. With centres across England, Scotland and Wales the Terence Higgins Trust provides information and advice about HIV and sexual health, offering a range of sexual health checks, counselling and support groups. The trust campaigns for a world where people with HIV live healthy lives, free from prejudice and discrimination, promoting good sexual health as a right and reality for all.
