Seasiders boss keen on signing foursome

Ian Holloway says he is trying to sign four players who helped Blackpool seal promotion to the Premier League last season.

The Seasiders boss was impressed by Everton full-back Seamus Coleman, strikers Stephen Dobbie from Swansea and DJ Campbell from Leicester and Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan during the time they spent on loan at Bloomfield Road last term.

"I'm trying to bring those players back so at least I have what I finished the season with," Holloway told Tangerine Player.

Holloway is yet to make any new additions to his squad ahead of the Tangerines' first season in the top flight since 1971, but the 47-year-old is reportedly close to securing the signature of Israeli defender Dekel Keinan on a free transfer from Maccabi Haifa.

He is also targeting Monaco midfielder Malaury Martin, who is currently on trial at the club and will join the squad on their pre-season trip to Devon.

Holloway added: "He's been in every French age group up to Under 21, and he's still only 21, and that's the sort of calibre of player I'm looking at."

Attitude

Holloway is looking to introduce at least 10 new outfield players to his squad, which was further decimated when Hameur Bouazza departed for French side Arles-Avignon this month.

The former Bristol Rovers and Leicester boss has blasted the attitude of the Algeria international, but admits the winger's pace will be missed.

"I don't think we fitted each other that well," added Holloway.

"He didn't turn up for the last month of the season, which really upset the lads and me. But I think we'll miss the type of pace that he gave us."

Holloway concedes Blackpool are not completely ready for the top flight, but is looking forward to the challenge.

"We have bitten off more than we can chew but we'll chew as fast as we can," he added.

"You have to get out of your comfort zone, that's what life is all about."
