Thurrck Services sitting alongside the M25, Thurrock may not be rich in facilities or modern in design, but it attempts to create a suburban feel by backing on to a large lake.

Shops: WH Smith, Marks and Spencer Simply Food
Fuel: Esso with pumps for Unleaded, Ultimate Unleaded and Diesel

Trivia:

In November 2006 Thurrock gained a WH Smith store as well as a Marks and Spencer Simply Food outlet.

Before the services were built, a site was considered to the south of the River Thames.

When the services opened in June 1992 they claimed to be "the world's most advanced", which is a stark contrast with how they look today. Amongst other things, it held 'customer clinics'... whatever they are!

Survey Results:

Lord Adonis (Secretary of State for Transport) made little comment on the services when he made a surprise visit in September 2009, saying it had been "greatly enhanced" by the arrival of M&S.

In 2006, Thurrock was graded 3/5 by Holiday Which?

Also in 2006, the services won a five star loo award.
