Speed Cameras

The number of drivers fined for speeding on the M25 is set to soar after the launch of new cameras.
Old film cameras on the western section near Heathrow have been replaced with digital models that - unlike the old film cameras - are capable of catching thousands of speeding motorists a minute. "It's been well known for years that drivers were unlikely to be caught here unless they were well over the limit," said AA president Edmund King. "But all this seems likely to change now."
A Highways Agency spokesman said: "We are currently upgrading the cameras on the M25 between junction 10 and junction 16."
